Beta Agonists

Beta-agonists are feed additives approved and deemed safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They are used to increase muscle mass, accelerate growth rates, and improve feed efficiency in livestock such as cattle and poultry. Use of beta-agonists should be monitored carefully, as residues in meat can have various long-term health effects. We can analyse 10 types of beta-agonist compounds, including those commonly used in the livestock industry such as Clenbuterol, Ractopamine, and Salbutamol. In addition to meat samples, we are also capable of analysing beta-agonists in feed samples. Our testing is performed using LC-MS/MS technology.
